Job description
The Valley Center Police Department is soliciting highly motivated individuals for the full time position of Police Officer. Those selected to fill open positions will be enforcing local, state, and federal laws, as well as investigating crimes, enforcing traffic regulations, investigating traffic collisions, and assisting the public. State certified officers are preferred, but full training will be provided. Included is a generous benefits package including health insurance, KP&F, paid holidays, sick, and vacation time. Requirements: Applicants must be 21 years of age at the time of application, and have a high school diploma or equivalent, college preferred, with a clean criminal record, and vision correctable to 20/20. Applicant must pass a written test, background investigation, oral interview, and additional conditional job testing. Work schedule requires weekend, holiday, rotating shift work, overtime, and court appearances.
Certified law enforcement applicants must not have any Brady/Giglio material in background to be eligible for hiring.
Salary range: $20.35-$22.61 Non-Certified $23.22-$25.80 Certified
