A Typical Work Day May Include:

Maintenance and Repair and Metal Fabrication and Repairs

Conduct mechanical repairs, electrical repairs and service on all types of engines, machinery, and equipment.

Identify defects and troubleshoot problems with city equipment, and order and install parts as needed.

Maintenance of Facilities and Grounds  

Organize and maintain the division facilities and Public Works Yard in a clean and safe condition.

Plant, mow, trim, rake, fertilize, and water the grass on public grounds.

Prepare facilities and equipment for winter or adverse weather.

What You Will Need:
Knowledge of basic automotive, truck, and heavy equipment operations and functions.

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Valid Kansas driver’s license and driving record must meet commercial liability insurance requirements.

Valid Kansas commercial driver’s license with air brake endorsement, required within six months of employment.

What Will Put You Ahead:
One year automotive mechanic or related experience.

One year welding experience.

Technical training and certifications.
