The Treatment Court Coordinator may act as courtroom representative for problem solving, and act as liaison with outside professionals, court staff and others. Considerable interaction with court personnel, treatment court judges, defendants, legal and social services professionals is involved, and familiarity with the courts, probation services, and treatment practices is necessary. Provides oversight and manages the team dynamics of the treatment court team; ensures treatment court team members adheres to identified functions, philosophy, and performance standards; oversees client data; remains informed regarding budgetary concerns of the treatment court and coordinates services from each discipline; and the local community, in a manner that is most therapeutic to the drug court participant.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Seeks and schedules opportunities to educate the public on the treatment court program
• Identifies and recommends potential new team members to ensure competent team members and a successful program.
• Identifies training opportunities for the treatment court team and ensures team members attend all mandatory training prior to functioning as a team member.
• Provides information and promotes treatment courts to employers, housing providers, and other agencies on the value of working with participants from the treatment court program.
• Develops and coordinates an Alumni program
• Informs team members of expectations of their role on the treatment court team.
• Provides orientation to new team members
• Performs other work as assigned
• Participates in treatment court meetings
• Plan, implement, and monitor the day-to-day activities of the treatment court programs.
• Coordinate and approve treatment court expenditures
• Cultivate and maintain cooperative relationships with program and community stakeholders.
• Organize and conduct community presentations
• Organize and disseminate treatment court calendars and pre-court staffing information.
• Maintain confidential participant files
• Organize, attend, and participate in pre-court staffing, court hearings, conferences, meetings, and committees
• Act as a liaison between judicial officers, court personnel, treatment providers, attorneys, treatment court members, funding agencies and community organizations
• Manages and coordinates administrative services for the treatment court, which includes budgeting, accounting and finance, personnel, and related administrative services.
• Compose policies, procedures, goals, objectives, mission statements, etc., for use in informational brochures, presentations and grants.
• Plan and prepare budgetary estimates and justifications
• Coordinate and facilitate interdisciplinary training for drug court team members
• Organize and conduct community presentations.

Work Environment:
• Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elements.

• Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for walking, standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time; extensive use of computer keyboard.
• The incumbent works in a typical office environment, but does have frequent contact with program participants who may become aggressive or hostile; and travel is required both in and out of state.

Additional Requirements:
• Position requires the use of City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have/maintain an acceptable driving record.
• This position is subject to the City of Liberal’s’ Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy which includes one or more of the following: pre-employment testing, post-accident testing, reasonable suspicion testing, and follow-up testing.
• Ability to successfully pass a background check.
Education and Experience
• Requires a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in human services, business administration, public administration, criminal justice, or other related fields
• Experience should include project or program management and/or experience in the capacity of addictions, human/family services, health services, public safety, law enforcement, corrections, or court management.
• Three years of progressively responsible related experience in any of these fields OR any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the jobs.
Work Schedule:
Monday to Thursday 7:30AM to 5:30PM. Friday hours are 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with alternating Fridays scheduled off. This position requires occasional work outside normal operating hours to be performed on-site or remotely.
