Licensed Practical Nurse
Starting pay range: $22.00 - $23.36, Non-exempt, Office hours are Monday – Friday 8:00 to 5:00. Possibility of a flex schedule.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide direct patient care in a clinic setting and public health setting. Applicant must be certified as a LPN from the State of Kansas.
• Obtains vital signs, patient concerns, and family medical history;
• Administers PO, SQ and IM injections and medications;
• Performs blood draws and lab tests; collects specimens;
• Answers/return calls to patients;
• Coordinates referrals and schedules appointments;
• Administers immunizations to infants, children and adults;
• Performs health screening procedures;
• Maintains clinical equipment;
• Charts using an Electronic Health Record (EHR).

Position Requirements:
Experience: Two years or more of experience in providing health care in a licensed health care facility.
Education: Certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse from the State of Kansas. Current BLS certification; and minimum of ICS 100, 700, 200 and 800.
Technical Skills: Knowledge of basic health care standards and techniques. Ability to proficiently operate standard health care tools and equipment. Ability to deal tactfully with the general public and to communicate effectively and clearly, both orally and in writing. Knowledge of computer programs. Knowledge of exam, diagnostic and treatment room procedures.
Problem Solving: Frequent problem solving exists in relation to the daily performance of patient care duties.
Decision-Making: Limited decision making responsibilities.
Supervision: Under Supervision of the Director, Assistant Director and Nurse Practitioner. Work performance reviewed by Director and Nurse Practitioner.
Financial Accountability: Employee is responsible for the proper handling of any funds and/or valuables encountered in the performance of their work.
Personal Relations: Extensive contact with the general public and health care professionals.
Working Conditions: Adverse working conditions include exposure to communicable diseases. Environment may be loud and chaotic.
Physical Requirements: Must have the ability to perform the strenuous activities that may be required in the performance health care duties. Between 20 – 30% of the time requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry or push heavy objects or persons of up to 50 lbs independently and over 50 lbs with assistance.
