The City of Coffeyville has an opening for a Community Development & Housing Coordinator. This position is responsible for: managing initiatives such as Paint the Town, the Emergency Repair Program, First Time Homebuyer Program, Downtown Grant Program, as well as community surveys and other efforts to improve local quality of life. The ideal candidate should be passionate about serving the community and making a positive impact in Coffeyville. Additionally, this position will partner with government agencies, non-profit organizations and community groups; track program effectiveness and recommend improvements; prepare reports and maintain accurate records; attend local meetings representing the City and the Community Development Department.
Pay for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hour. Previous experience with community development, federal grant programs, or housing is preferred. Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a diverse range of people; proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic data management systems is essential. Typical hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, but some evening and weekend hours may be required for community meetings and special events. Successful applicant must pass background and credit check in addition to pre-employment physical. Applicants must be willing to meet the City of Coffeyville residency requirement to reside within a fifty mile radius of City Hall at 102 W. 7th St., Coffeyville, Kansas.
