Building Maintenance - City of Coffeyville

The City of Coffeyville has an opening for a Building Maintenance Worker.  This position assists with maintenance of municipal buildings and public facilities, as well as maintaining department equipment.  Strong candidates should possess mechanical aptitude, effective communication skills. Knowledge of and experience with: maintenance including carpentry, plumbing and general upkeep including locks, windows, doors, carpeting and shelving; replacing HVAC filters and minor HVAC repairs; repairing plumbing fixtures and maintaining plumbing systems including unclogging drains; performing minor repairs to roofing, plaster, concrete and other structural elements; painting; replacing light bulbs, repairing ballasts and maintaining electrical components; routing maintenance on water pumps, generators and other systems including fire extinguishers and emergency lighting checks; general painting, sheetrock repair and other duties as assigned. 

Starting wage between $18.00 - $23.00/hr plus benefits.  Position requires one to three years of related experience and/or education; GED or high school diploma; valid Driver's License and clean driving record. This position may be required to work in adverse conditions including exposure to chemicals, noise, heavy equipment, confined spaces, heights and inclement weather. Manual labor including lifting and carrying heavy objects, bending, kneeling, walking, and ability to operate equipment and machinery is required for this position.
