Wastewater Collections Apprentice Utility 1st Year - City of Coffeyville

The City of Coffeyville is hiring for the position of Wastewater Collections Apprentice Utility 1st Year. This is entry level class in the Wastewater Utility Maintenance Series. Position duties include: assist in construction, maintenance and repair of wastewater lines; respond to leaks, stoppages and calls after hours and week-ends; operate all types of equipment needed for maintaining and repairing wastewater lines. Ability to work outside in extreme conditions, frequent heavy lifting over 50#. CDL license or ability to obtain is required. Must complete apprenticeship program that consists of bookwork, testing and on-the-job training to achieve journeyman certification.

$18.17/hour plus excellent benefit package that includes: KPERS, health insurance, vacation, sick leave, optional 457b plan. Preference given to applicants with Commercial Driver's License. Applicants must have high school diploma or equivalent and Driver's License. Applicants must meet city residency requirement and reside within 50 miles of 7th & Walnut in Coffeyville and be able to respond to work within one hour. Must pass pre-employment physical.
