POSITION TITLE:
Part-Time Certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT or Higher)

Compensation may include both hourly pay and EMS call-out pay depending on schedule/shift, shifts normally 12 hours 

Reports to:                                         Emergency Services and Management Director or Deputy Chief of Operations
Employees Supervised/Directed:       None

FLSA Code:                                       Non-Exempt

POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY:

Certified Emergency Medical Technicians (or higher certification levels) perform duties associated with providing emergency medical care to the sick and injured in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations and City of Halstead Fire/EMS protocols and policies.  This is a skilled emergency response position with general responsibilities to provide emergency medical care in pre-hospital, trauma, or accident settings, provide care and medical transport for patients to medical facilities, provide basic life support care and first aid to patients as needed, communicate with other medical personnel regarding patient care, and complete and maintain accurate forms, records, and paperwork as required.
