The City of Haysville’s Public Works Department is accepting applications for a Public Works Coordinator. Job Description:

This position inspects street, water, wastewater, and storm water construction projects. Functions will involve performing basic engineering and mathematical procedures which require following instructions and providing accurate and complete records of that work. This position performs or assists other inspectors in the performance of routine field work or inspection on construction projects for compliance with standard practice, specifications, and plans. This position participates in project design, research, analyzing data, summarizing reports and submitting request for proposals. This position will perform storm water inspection, monitor BMP’s and submit required storm water reports to KDHE.

KDOT certifications in Basic Inspection, Asphalt Paving Inspection, Concrete Paving Inspection, and Structures are desired.

Exposure to blood borne pathogens, odors, noise, electrical and mechanical hazards is expected. Physical abilities include, but are not limited to, the ability to climb and balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift or move up to 100 pounds. Working in all types of weather conditions can also be expected.

Regular work days are Monday – Friday, 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. with forty hours per week.

Requirements:

· 18 years of age or older;

· High School Diploma or GED Equivalent;

· Background Check;

· Physical Capacity Testing;

· Drug/Alcohol Screening;

· Valid Kansas Driver’s License;

· At least two years of similar or related experience;

Compensation:

Starting salary is $17.82 per hour. The City of Haysville offers an extensive benefits package that includes personal holidays, sick leave, KPERS retirement and vacation after one year of service. The City operates a wellness incentive program that with participation offers paid time off.
