Part-time position. Under the direct supervision of the assistant director, position is responsible for providing nutrition assessment and direct nutritional educational services to WIC participants. Assists in development and implementation of the WIC nutritional education plan.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include: 

  • In conjunction with the WIC Coordinator, develop and interpret health department and nutrition policies, procedures and protocols.
  • Monitor compliance with WIC and health department policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all local policies and procedures and compliant with state policy and procedure manual, and the terms of the WIC contract.
  • Provide for positive publicity and the effective distribution of WIC outreach materials.
  • Help disseminate through statistics and non-specific case histories, information that highlights the success of the WIC program in the community.

Other duties may be assigned.

Required Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university with a major in foods, nutrition or related sciences, and successful completion of a dietetic internship accredited by The American Dietetic Association or other equivalent training.

Preferred Education and/or Experience: Master's degree or equivalent, and two-to-three years related experience. Bilingual is preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Current registration through the Commission on Dietetic Registration; Licensed by the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services, Health Occupations Credentialing; Driver's license; Maintain current CPR certification.
