Under the general supervision of the Park Director, this part-time, non-exempt position is responsible for the unskilled, physical and skilled labor tasks necessary to perform maintenance, repair, construction of the parks and recreation system to include maintaining and repairing equipment necessary to complete the tasks for Harvey County. Enforce rules and regulations and participate in safety or rescue activities.

Part time position: Three 8-hour shifts per week (24 hours a week). Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
• Lead nature walks in the parks and describe its inhabitants, trees, and outcropping, climate, etc.
• Visit schools and other facilities in the community and educate participants about parks and particular species of plants and/or animals.
• Identify and interpret wildlife and vegetation issues.
• Protect and preserve native wildlife, plants, or ecosystems, conduct education and training programs for the community.
• Point out scientific, historic, and natural features of the Parks.
• Prepare and present reports, lectures, and presentations to educate the public about the parks. Answer the public’s questions.

Required Education: High school education or G.E.D.; six months to twelve months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
