Under the direct supervision of the Communications Director and Emergency Management Director, this non-exempt position is responsible for administrative support of the Communication and Emergency Management departments while working on sensitive and confidential matters that serve to protect the citizenry of Harvey County.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Communicate with customers, employees, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information, and address questions.
  • Compute, record, and proofread data, records, descriptions, and other information, for records or reports.
  • Type, format, proofread, and edit correspondence and other documents.
  • Maintain and update filing, mailing, database systems, and records.
  • Perform other duties such as data entry, refunds, daily deposits, mailings, correspondence, preparing bulk mail, records management and scanning.
  • Process all incoming and outgoing financial records, vouchers and requisitions.
  • Prepare bi-weekly payroll for approval by department head/designee.
  • Oversee 911 and Emergency Management funds to deposit.
  • Input NCIC entries, modifications and clearances with a focus on timeliness, accuracy, and adherence to State and Federal CJIS policies and guidelines.
  • Support operational responses and EOC activations as directed, to include running errands, making/facilitating phone calls, documentation, augmenting 911 dispatch, and working within the EOC Planning and Logistics sections.
  • Build, maintain, and utilize a county-wide common operational picture, to include the daily tracking of weather, resources, and operations.
  • Build, maintain, and utilize a county-wide ICS-201, ICS-209, Incident Action
  • Plan cost reimbursement and other required operational templates and documentation.
  • Support the building and implementation of Emergency Management training, exercise, and partnership programs.
  • Support the Emergency Management and Administration/Public Information departments in the development and implementation of community outreach and education initiatives.

Required Education and/or Experience:
Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two year-college or technical school; or one year to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
