Event Coordinator/Marketing Coordinator - City of Maize
Maize , KS
The Event and Marketing Coordinator position will be foundational in establishing vibrant community events for the City of Maize, as well as, enhancing relationships with community leaders and local businesses. This is a part-time position with a maximum of 30 hours per week. KPERS retirement participation is included if 1000 hours are exceeded annually; other benefits do not apply to part-time positions. This position may grow into a full-time position within the next couple of years.
Responsibilities:
• Program events at the Clair Donnelly Amphitheater
• Secure sponsorships and provide support for events at the Maize City Park
• Manage the Clair Donnelly Amphitheater rental agreements
• Create and publish content for the City’s website, social media pages and the quarterly newsletter
• Promote the good will of the City
• Perform other duties as assigned
Skills:
• Working knowledge of efficient office procedures, computer applications and software programs
• Ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with peers, supervisors, city officials, related agencies, and the public
• Ability to work some evenings and weekends
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
• Must possess good organizational skills, effective communication skills, and the ability to prioritize, plan, and work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision
Education:
• High School & two (2) years of college, technical training, or business training, and/or experience.
• Prefer college degree in recreation administration, communications, business marketing or related field
Experience:
• Minimum of three (3) years in parks and recreation, event planning, marking or related field
Salary Range (commensurate upon experience):
$21.01-$29.71
